Memory Verse for Sunday ~ August 29th, 2010.

Hi everyone,

I hope you are having a great Sunday.  My shoulder feels MUCH BETTER today. The tension in the muscles seems to be going away very slowly...and  I'm moving it as much as I can, gently, to keep myself active. I don't want to become petrified like a tree.

Enjoy today's Scripture verse. The background graphic is from The Graphics Fairy and it was just too cute. It was actually an altered piece of sheet music...and I thought it went well with today's verse.

I'd read Ephesians 5:19 on one of you sweet lady's blogs...and lovely me, can't remember which one :( In any case, I wrote the reference down on a little 1" by 2" index card and took it to work.  Since at least half of the people I work with are Christians, I figured someone might have a Bible on them. NO!!! It was so funny. I went from one co-worker to the next asking if he/she had a Bible..no, they all left them at home. It was really quite comical, because I really wanted to write out the entire verse.

Instead, I just placed the little reference card underneath the monitor screen, right in my line of vision...so it would remind me to be joyful unto the Lord!!!

Yesterday was a very tough day.  My job basically entails telemarketing. We're a soft-sell company...and I can handle rejection. However, yesterday people were just plain very mean.  Sweet Linda over at Prairie Flower Farm gave me some great advice....pray for them. That is exactly what I will do, because I don't know what's going on on the other end of the phone. I'll admit that when customers yell at me, it does make me cry sometimes because I'm just doing a job. There's no excuse for treating anyone mean...not at all. So Linda really made this heart of mine very glad yesterday :) :)

Oh, I came up with a title for my stories about work. It'll now be called "Tales from the Pear Tree" even though right now we're still in peach season. The Royal Riviera pears are what we are world-famous for here in the States and internationally.

Have a great week everyone. That's the news from Oregon today. Love and hugs, Heather :)

I'm sorry you had such a rough day. What you are going through is another reason why I left my Retail job and returned to my homemaker status.

Hi Heather,
Hope you are having a very restful Sunday, I am so sorry for the rude people, and Linda gave some very good advice. I agree there is no reason at all nor excuse for rudeness. But it seems to me that you are very understanding, and nice to people.
Thank you for sharing this graphic. I love the scripture too.
I also like the title of your stories about work, this should be very interestIng and a great read. I am late responding because I am still trying to catchup on blogging ,and trying to get my apples done, and then comes the grapes. just a busy time on the farming,
Thank you for coming by and for taking the time to leave me such a sweet comment. I so appreciate your friendship too.
Hugs,
Sue

Oh, Heather, I'm sorry you had such a difficult day. I truly cannot understand why people act like that. I guess it has to do with the anonymity of the phone. I mean, if they were looking at you face to fce, I doubt they would be yelling. But given that they can hide behind the phone, they feel safe in being rude. I am so sorry to hear that. And I agree with what your friend said...say a little prayer for them. You never know what kind of situation you may have caught them in.

Also, I LOVE the title Tales from the Pear Tree. It sounds lovely.

Have a great week.

Love,
Patti

Heather,
I agree--there is no reason to treat anyone like that. I try to be polite to telemarketers when they call my house--I must admit that I don't always make it though. I'm glad your shoulder is feeling better--I pray that it continues to do so.
Have a blessed week.

Heather,
How could anyone be rude to someone as sweet as you! Sorry to hear you had to go through this, but it is true, pray for them. Try not to take it personally, I know it's easier said then done, but toxic people like that are not good for anyone. Keep your chin up, keep smiling and think of the friendly customers, not the rude one. One rude for 10 nice? For example, no comparison. :-) Love the verse, you find good ones. Hope things are going well with you and your Dad. You have been in my thoughts and prayers.
Blessings,
Jill

Hello from your blogging neighbor to to the north in Washington State! So glad you joined us this Spiritual Sunday. I hope this week goes better for you. You have a stressful job. I agree with the others here who have stated that people have no right to be rude or mean to you. Yes, praying for them is a good thing to do. Everyone is under so much stress these days. May the peace of the Lord be with you.

The memory verse graphic is beautiful. Thank you for sharing it. I'm glad your shoulder is better. I always try to be kind to telemarketers although I will have to admit I am always just a little annoyed that I am being called. That is a job I would not want. I'm sure I would end up crying too. I'll pray for you.
Blessings,
Charlotte

Heather, you are a dear sweet person, and I'm sorry you were treated poorly. No one deserves this and I know you're just trying to earn a living. God loves you and He will honor your efforts to live for Him.

Dear Heather ~ I think Linda's advice is WONDERFUL!! How precious to think that you can be used in such a way...praying for those that abuse you on the phone...SO great! May the LORD continue to give you the grace day by day to look to HIM and not take it personal. It really isn't personal...people are just frustrated and don't really think that YOU are a person with feelings...they treat you like a computer (which of course, you are not)!

Have a great week!
Glad to hear your shoulder is improving!

Blessings,
Camille

Hi Heather,
If you would like to put some repeats on for Tea Time, that's fine with me. There's numerous scripture verses you could use to make each one different if you would still like to participate. Just let me know, ok? I don't want to put any pressure on you. Tea Time is supposed to be fun for everyone. Hope you're having a good day.

Blessings,
Sandi
