HEATHER'S BLOG DESIGN ADVENTURE UPDATE

Hi everyone,

Wow, I finally managed to use up all my image storage space on Blogger. So I had to go back to my Picasa web album (which I forgot I even had still) and delete a bunch of unused photos. Plus, I deleted all my blog posts from my first month of blogging, to create space without having to pay for extra storage. I just can't afford to purchase more space, even though it's really cheap.

Have any of you ever experienced this?  Well, the one good thing is I've figured out how to create my own header ;) :)  So that is a step in the right direction :) :)

I did finally figure out how to add my own background image to  Blogger. Now I have to figure out how to make it fit the whole screen instead of repeating itself over and over. Uggg..I hope you don't mind my experimenting with my blog layout and design :)

If you want to read the update on my father, you can click here.

That's the news from the ocean shores of California today. Love and hugs, Heather :)

No I have not experienced that. I love your header and the background pic. It looks so peaceful and beautiful. You are blessed. Blessings and glad your dad is doing well.

I feel your pain! I just moved to WordPress at the start of this year, and I'm still figuring things out. Just be patient and you'll figure it out (or keep pestering more experienced bloggers;-).

So glad your dad is doing better.

@Patty - thank you :) :) This multiple repeat of my background pic is actually growing on me. I'm just going to leave it this way for now..When I have time, I'll play around with this. I tried to look for videos on YouTube, but some of them are out of date. I have Adobe Photoshop, but can barely use it. Oh well, it's time to experiement.

@Laurie/The Common Sense Woman - yeah, I'll figure it out eventually. I'm going to stick with Blogger for awhile, and someday I'll probably pay someone to redesign my blog for me :) :) What made you move to WordPress?

Thanks for leaving me comments :) :) Love and hugs ,Heather :)

Love your header and background. I figured out the header thing once but I don't remember just what I did now=( I'll have to play around to figure out how to make my own background too. I hope you have a wonderful week. Take care.

Hi Heather.. It takes a long time to figure out this blog stuff, eh?
I love your header..
I can do the pics but it takes a while to figure it all out..
I had to buy once but it was only a few cents..
God bless..

The header is gorgeous, and I am so illiterate with blog design that I have no idea what you are talking about! My granddaughter did mine for me when she was 14, a couple of years ago. Proud of you!

LOVE your new header--I will now have something sunny to look at when we are gray and rainy here:)
I have not reached my storage capacity yet on blogger (thank goodness)...but I used to post much smaller photos than I do now that I have a DSLR camera. I am just (wishfully) hoping that I don't reach it for a few more years...
Blessings,
Aimee

Hi Heather, You did a great job making your template and header! I don't know how to do that and I admire how you were able to play around and figure it out on your own. Glad your dad is doing better!
Hugs, Beth

Looks fine as wine sis! :) I wish I knew how to do all that. I tried playing a while with wordpress backgrounds, and gave up after a while and went with cookie cutter. On blogspot I like using the Cutest Blog on the Block and Shabby Blogs for backgrounds.... :)

I've used blogger for over 4 years now and have never experienced having too many pictures and I've posted a lot of pictures. Hmm...not sure.
Love your header though and you'll figure out the rest I'm sure. It just takes time to figure it out.
Have a great day.
Kim

Heather, I am so sorry your father has been ill! I didn't know! He is looking good in the previous post. I wish him the very best in his recovery.

Your new blog header is beautiful. You did a fabulous job on it.
I was over at Girl Gab, MJF new site. They have you listed on it, so I came right over to visit. Yay!
I hope you are having a great day.
Hugs,
Terri

Hi, dropping by from Learning the Frugal Life.

I ran out of storage on Blogger awhile back, so I uploaded my pics in albums under my FB account (making the album viewable by me only so it wouldn't show up on my Wall). Then I copied the URL of the image. The image uploader at blogger allows you to upload pics by using an URL.

I had heard, though, that Picasa went to unlimited storage on account of the new google+ social media thing. I've been able to upload photos again, but maybe they've limited again, since you ran out.

Well wishes to your Dad.

Nice job on the header! I'm still struggling to find something I like. Good luck with the playing around. I play around on my blog a lot, that is how you learn things.

I saw your comment on someone else's blog when I was hopping around the Living Well Wednesday posts. I love your new pjs - so pretty! My sister has a similar pair (dark pink) and has loved them since middle school. And she's not in her 20s :). I hope you get as much enjoyment out of them as she did.
