My Tenth Tea Time Tuesday and Teapot and Tea Things Tuesday for September 14th, 2010

Hi everyone...Did you have a good weekend? My weekend was really good. Okay, today, my tea is a little different. I still haven't managed to add actual tea and goodies yet...but yes, I do drink tea and eat goodies. So it's not just all for looks...:) :) :)  Today, I took some of my pink colored teacups and combined them with my pink princess Depression glass plates, plus some other family items (also pink) and some extra goodies...just to have some fun. Don't you love all the pink and white? This is one of my homemaking dreams coming true.  Do you recognize my little German demitasse with matching saucer in the upper left-hand corner? You might recognize some of the other pieces from previous tea posts.

There are quite a few mismatched pieces...but I was going for color here. Oh, this was fun. I'll have to "tweak" this again and see what other combinations I can come up with!!!

The candlestick holders are sterling...but they need some cleaning. Any tips? I heard that toothpaste is supposed to work...but I'm not sure. The candles should be there, but I  like the "shabby" look without the candles too...and the antique silver spoons (a yardsale find)...those need some polishing, too. Oh, okay, I'm drooling over my own photo. LOVE THE PINK!!! Oh, and I humbly bow to those of you who making styling of pretty tea things look so easy!!! It's work!!!...but the result is worth it :) :) :)

The photo below is a close-up of one of the practice tea settings. Oh, I'd definitely be having a nice slice of cake or a sandwich maybe. It's clear that I forgot a fork...but I did remember the spoon for stirring tea...although, that's "gigantic" too :) :) :) Oh well, this tea setting has me laughing right now..there's so many forgotten details. Yet, I had fun sharing some of this with you.

My first tea setting and I realize the spoon is a little too BIG for stirring tea :) :) :) That's funny...I'm so laughing at myself right now...really truly :) :) :)

When you host a tea OR you are invited to tea...what are your favorite things to eat? What's your favorite kind of tea or coffee?  Those are my tea items for today!!!!  Thanks for stopping by to visit!!!

That's the news from Oregon today. Love and hugs from Oregon, Heather :)

You have set up a lovely table! The delicate pinks are so pretty, your tea cups just beautiful.
I love to have anything chocolate with my tea. Especially Chamomile tea, it really brings out the flavor in chocolate.
Thank you so much for sharing with us today,
Hugs,
Terri

Happy Tea Day Heather! Beautiful pinks and whites...I'll just have to make a trip and visit you for tea! But, I'd prefer coffee if you please!! And cookies...those thin sugar cookies that are so thin they are crisp...dozens of them! Just to nibble on while sipping coffee. Ahhh, I guess I need to get in the kitchen and look up a recipe! Have an awesome week!
Blessings, Doni

Hello Miss Heather,
What a charming pink tea you have set out for we tea ladies today! I love pink depression glass and would you believe I don't have any of it myself? Your teacups are very nice and I especialy like the tea strainer!
You asked what we like to have with our tea. Well, I like just about everything; especially a heavy pudding with lots of sauce and whipped cream but I do enjoy a scone too. I often just have my tea by itself though. Somehow I enjoy it perhaps more that way. Better for the waistline too.
You did well, my friend, and I would be happy to sit and have a cuppa with you surrounded by my favourite colour! Thanks for sharing and I hope you have a wonderful day.

Blessings,
Sandi

Heather, This is a pretty tea setting! I really love your depression glass pieces. Pretty lace tablecloth too. You should purchase silver polish - check the label to make sure it is for silver because some polish is for other metals and too harsh for silver. That, and touch of elbow grease, will clean your silver right up. Have a blessed day!

Hi Heather!
I think you did a superb job of photographing your teatime pretties!!!

You did a beautiful job, Heather!!! I am such a pink and white gal, so I am totally in love with your setting. Oh, those candle holders are beyond beautiful. I LOVE LOVE LOVE silver. And that tablecloth....I am a sucker for battanburg lace, so I'm rather drooling over it.

I most love Earl Grey tea, but I'm also a big fan of Bigelow French Vanilla (with a splash of half and half). And for the eats...cookies, scones, muffins, whatever is available in my house....today it was mini pretzels, as I had no baked goods available. Let me tell you, pretzels with tea leaves a little bit lacking.

Well, my dear, I need to go read your other post. Have a lovely evening.

Love,
Patti

Love it Heather--reminds me of one of the Tea Shops I used to go to have 'high tea'! Customers would choose a saucer and tea cup they wanted to have their tea in. They were all different patterns!
LOVE your pink theme :)
I like the whole 'high tea' thing--tea sandwiches, little desserts, etc...have had that here in the US and also BC, Canada.
On teas--I tend to like fruity or herbal ones, but will drink all kinds happily:)
Blessings Heather,
Aimee

Sooo pretty Heather! I *love* mismatched pieces on a table set for tea...it is so "country" and homey somehow. :) Love your tablecloth too...that's the one you found at a yard sale recently, isn't it?

Simply beautiful just like you Heather! You did a wonderful job putting it all together. Can you tell me what the centerpiece is? I think I have them in antique stores but never knew what they were used for?

Hope things have been better at work this week.

Have a wonderful weekend.

I think tea parties are about friendship and fun and it does not matter if all the tea cups and saucers are different or not!I personally like all the different hats people wear and all the different food and treats served at teas. I want to come have tea with Heather! Hugs Anne
